Join us for a unique scrapbooking event to raise donations and awareness for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training program, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting blood related cancers.
Team in Training is the largest endurance sports team in the world and has seen over 340,000 participants cross the finish line of their half/full marathon, century bike ride or triathlon. Remarkably, they have raised more than $8million dollars for lifesaving cancer research to help blood cancer patients live longer, better lives. This year Team in Training will be celebrating their 20th anniversary!
Facts about Leukemia and Lymphoma:
• In 2007, over 135,000 people in the US were diagnosed with blood related cancers
• There are currently 820,000 people in the U.S. living with a blood related cancer
• The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is fighting for each of these patients and their families
• The Society has come a long way…..The five year survival for Leukemia in 1987 was less than 55% and we are now at 95%.
• Lymphoma has gone from 52% to 63%
• Myeloma has gone from 12%to nearly 35%
**This has all been possible due to the money raised by The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society**
In honor of Team in Trainings 20th Anniversary The Society hopes to reach the $1 billion dollar mark!
Alanna is joining Team In Training for her 4th season and has taking on the challenge to train and fund-raise for The San Francisco Women’s Nike Marathon in 2008. She would like to honor the 20th Year Anniversary of Team in Training by raising $10,000 this season. Please help her reach her goal by raising funds and cropping!
The event registration fee is $35 and we asked that each participant raise a minimum of $100 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
